Day 17

Updated: Jul 26

The fifth benefit of reading the Bible is that you will be directed by God. All throughout the Bible, there is reference to His Word leading and guiding us. Psalm 119:105 says that His Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. We see here that the Bible will give you long term vision because it is a light unto you path, but also it will give specific direction on the next step because it is a lamp unto your feet. In addition, Psalm 119:133 says direct my steps by Your Word. You will find that as you read the Bible, God will begin to tell you what to do and how to live your life. In addition, when you need guidance, you can go to Jesus in the Bible and ask Him to lead you and to direct you. He has specific thoughts for you and specific thoughts on what you should do. One of the ways He communicates them to you is through reading the Bible.
